Roof of Africa 2010 - Day 3
Today was the final day of the 2010 Roof of Africa. Chris Birch (NZ) made it three and a row with 2003 winner Jade Gudzeit (ZA) second. Andreas Lettenbichler (DE) had a storming ride to take third with Paul Bolton (GB) in fourth.
My brother Igor battled on and finally finished 94th. There were only 109 finishers out of 253 starters. Yep... the Roof of Africa sure is the 'Mother of Hard Enduro'. Bloody well done Chief! Proud of you.
Thanks Hubert Stanka for the pics. When Nic (pit crew) and Igor get back to civilization, we'll get more pics and the full race story.
Full results here.

Roof of Africa 2010 - Day 2
Day 2 brings the first real test for competitors on the Roof of Africa 2010.
Local hero Jade Gudzeit (Yamaha) and kiwi Chris Birch (KTM) battled together for almost 8 hours today and were separated by only 3 seconds at the stage finish. Thanks Hubert Stanka for the great pics.
After a gruelling 13 hours on the bike today, my brother Igor is lying in 152nd. Keep going Chief!

Erzberg XVII
I hassled the organizers of Erzberg Rodeo again this year and they sent me an entry for Erzberg XVII (2011) before entries opened last Monday. Entries in fees paid and I have already been allocated my start number for June 2011!
I said I wouldn't do Erzberg again unless I was joined by a riding buddy or two. Unfortunately... my friends aren't keen so if I go... I'll be riding on my own again :-(
No worries... this time I plan on doing 'some' training and riding the bike more than once in the 9 months running up to the event! I WILL QUALIFY!
Erzberg Rodeo XVII... looking forward to it!

Flattrack Practice
After a week of appalling weather, it all cleared for a sunny day at Rye House for some flattrack practice.
Got out for 5 x 15 minute sessions. A bit slippy at first, but just beautiful for the last few sessions. Anthony (Co-Built) gave me loads of valuable advice and coaching. I felt much smoother and quicker by the end of the day... and less likely to crash. Thanks dood!
:-)
It was a good day on the clay and I've taken a quantum step in my riding. Problem is... this is probably the last time we'll get to ride before next season... got to remember what I've learned!

Shederooni
Spent the weekend putting up a 12' x 8' shed in my garden. It's to hide the ugly plastic kerosene oil tank (heating fuel) and store all the shit currently cluttering up my garage... lawnmower, bicycles, wood etc.
It was a bit of a job on my own... and the weather wasn't playing ball. But got most of it done in the end. Still got to do the windows, door locks, handles and finishing... and then fill it with crap!
With the garage purged of non-moto-sickle items, the winter projects can begin (oh... also after I've sorted proper insulation and lighting...). Looking forward to it!
Saturday was a glorious autumn day and spent getting materials and building the base...
It was a bit of a job on my own... and the weather wasn't playing ball. But got most of it done in the end. Still got to do the windows, door locks, handles and finishing... and then fill it with crap!
Started early on Sunday and got the floor down...
Then the rain came and I got soaked to the bone... it was time for a break and the MotoGP anyway...
I finished getting the felt on the roof just before dark
